‘Toy Story Mania!’ Launches a Fourth Dimension
of Fun at Disney Parks
New Attraction Opens at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts Offering Whimsical Private-Event Options for Groups
ANAHEIM, Calif. (August 9, 2008) - Meeting professionals are discovering the fun and hilarity that’s in store for their events with the coast-to-coast opening of “Toy Story Mania!” at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The new “toy box of fun” attraction is inspired by the Disney•Pixar series of animated movies and offers exciting private event options for groups, including receptions, dessert parties and other networking functions.
“Toy Story Mania!” sets a new standard for interactive ride technology. Entering the attraction, Guests don 3-D glasses and hop into fancifully decorated vehicles. Riding along a colorful midway-themed route, they shoot at animated targets using their own “toy cannons,” scoring points in a series of energetic, fun gaming sequences that feature Woody, Bo Peep and the rest of the gang from the Toy Story movies.
Toy Story Mania! Private-Event Options
At the Disneyland Resort, Toy Story Mania! is located in the colorful Paradise Pier district of Disney’s California Adventure. Paradise Pier celebrates the fun and adventure of California’s beach lifestyle – all with a Disney twist.
Private functions at Paradise Pier feature electrifying experiences from days gone by, when California's beachfront amusement piers were a magnet for sun-seekers, movie stars and crowds of thrill-lovers. Entertainment options for Paradise Pier events are completely customizable. A Boardwalk DJ can spin customized soundtracks with an array of tunes from
past to present. Or, while hitched to a classic surf-era car, the Resort’s Beach Band on Wheels cruises into the party to provide a high-energy, live performance from atop a flatbed stage.
At the Walt Disney World Resort, Toy Story Mania! is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Studios. Celebrating the Golden Age of Hollywood, Disney’s Hollywood Studios puts attendees in the middle of television- and movie-making magic.
The new attraction can be the centerpiece of a wide array of event options, including the popular Coast to Coast event, which begins with a Big Apple street party staged on the Streets of America backlot. The party continues on the fabled Sunset Boulevard where attendees can dance the night away and catch a screaming limo ride on the popular thrill attraction, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
