Reimagined Guest Rooms Coming to Disneyland Hotel Early in 2010 Upgraded accommodations are latest enhancement to Southern California landmark ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 5, 2009) – Guest rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are being completely reimagined. Premiering in early 2010, the new rooms will offer dramatic, contemporary décor and a host of business-friendly amenities, making them ideal for meeting attendees and other business travelers. These upgraded accommodations will be introduced in phases, with all of the hotel's 969 rooms scheduled for completion by 2012. Rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are among the largest in Southern California and measure an average of 400 square feet. In this generous space Disney Imagineers have blended form and function to create a clean, contemporary look that weaves sophisticated Disney touches into the décor. Of course, the rooms will offer the latest functionality, from high-speed Internet access and flat-screen televisions to a generous work space. Artwork in the room includes a stunning oversize headboard with an artistically-carved representation of Sleeping Beauty Castle from Disneyland Park. Fiber optics in the headboard recreate the magical Disneyland skyline complete with fireworks. Elsewhere in the room, dramatic stylized photographs of Walt Disney and iconic Disneyland attractions evoke Disneyland history and tell the story of this legendary resort. "Walt Disney said that Disneyland would never be completed, as long as there's imagination left in the world," said Robert Donahue, director of resort sales and services for the Disneyland Resort. "In a real sense, that's also true for our Disneyland hotels. We constantly recreate the hotel experience for our guests, whether they're here for business or enjoying incentive experiences with families." As with every construction project at the Disneyland Resort, this renovation will encompass numerous environmentally friendly initiatives. Most notable will be the hotel's new floor-to-ceiling windows. With their reflective capability and double-pane glass, the windows will significantly reduce the hotel's overall energy consumption, while dramatically enhancing the look of the hotel exterior. Glass being used to create the windows is being fabricated by a local vendor – reducing shipping distances and the project's environmental footprint. The hotel's other green-lodging features include room-occupancy sensors that reduce energy consumption, low-flow toilets, and energy-efficient lighting. New guest rooms are the latest in a series of enhancements to the Disneyland Hotel. The hotel's suite accommodations include the 1,600-square foot, two-bedroom Mickey Mouse Penthouse. An upscale and sophisticated tribute to all things Mickey, the penthouse offers breathtaking views of Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. For a completely different kind of experience, the 1,600-square-foot "Pirates of the Caribbean" Suite immerses guests in an elegant, Old World setting that's accented with one-of-a-kind mementos from the attraction and hit movies. The Mickey Mouse Penthouse and Pirates of the Caribbean suite are ideal for hospitality suites or unforgettable accommodations for VIPs, award winners and other top performers. All suites and concierge accommodations provide access to services of the Disneyland Hotel E-Ticket Club. Located on the 11th floor of the Dreams Tower, the club offers an array of personalized services and complimentary DVD rentals. Breakfast is served each morning, as are other refreshments throughout the day. Overlooking the theme parks and Downtown Disney, the club affords concierge guests a birds-eye view of the Disneyland fireworks Dining options at the Disneyland Hotel include the new Steakhouse 55, a tribute to the golden age of Hollywood. The restaurant's private Oak Room can accommodate groups of up to 22, and the restaurant is available for buyouts of up to 100.
