New Wing Opens at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Expansion Brings 200 Additional Guest Rooms and 50 Two-Bedroom Villas to One of Southern California's Most Sought-After Meeting Destinations ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2009) Disneyland Resort today unveiled a stunning new addition to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. An entirely new wing added to the hotel brings the total number of rooms and suites to 948 and increases the hotel's accommodations by more than 30 percent. Enhancements to the Grand Californian are part of a multi-year expansion taking place throughout the Disneyland Resort . This includes a dramatic recreation of Disney's California Adventure Park, which will add new attractions and entertainment experiences, including an entirely new 12-acre Cars Land. "With its 20,000-square-foot convention center and sophisticated amenities, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is one of Southern California's most sought-after meeting locations," said Robert Donahue, director of resort sales and services for the Disneyland Resort. "The expansion allows us to host larger conventions, meetings and incentive programs by creating more rooming options for groups." The additions carry out the California Arts & Crafts architecture of the existing hotel, which immerses guests in a turn-of-the-20th-century California experience. Peter Dominick of the architectural firm 4240 designed the addition. Dominick was the original architect for Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, as well as Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, both located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The only AAA Four-Diamond hotel in North Orange County and recipient of all major meeting-industry awards, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa features a 20,000-square-foot convention center and the renowned Mandara Spa. The resort also sits adjacent to the entrance of Disney's California Adventure and Disneyland Park, which offer unparalleled settings for private events. The hotel is also home to the nationally renowned and award-winning Napa Rose restaurant, where Wine Country cuisine tempts taste buds and advanced sommeliers help guests make selections from one of the world's finest collections of California wines. The Disneyland Resort is Southern California's premier meeting destination and home to three dedicated convention hotels, two world-famous theme parks and Downtown Disney - a nighttime entertainment complex. More than facilities, the Disneyland Resort offers a host of benefits known as the Disney Difference. These include Disney Institute professional development programs, private group events in the Disneyland Resort theme parks, customized Disney entertainment, special theme park meeting/convention tickets, and Disney's unsurpassed creativity and service. ### NOTE TO EDITOR For more information, please contact:
